The Dave Kline Band blends rock, blues, jazz and folk with the cultural sounds of its diverse 4 piece ensemble featuring: Brit Dave Kline (electric violin), Colombian-American Fernando Mojica (electric guitar), Haitian-American Jon Laine (drums), and Senegalese Etu Dieng (bass guitar). At this house concert, with space and neighbors to consider, Jon won't play alas.
Recognized for its vibrant world sound, the Dave Kline Band enhances its contemporary vibe with sounds from Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Latin America.. Dave is a fiery electric and acoustic violinist, creating an impact with his fresh take on fiddling. A transplanted Brit, Dave has been performing since 1972, sharing the stage with the likes of Dwight Yoakam, Chick Corea and Veronneau. Dave's music has been featured on NPR and DC's local stations WUMC and WPFW. A regular guest of Veronneau on stage and in the studio, Dave has appeared on two of their CD releases Joie de Vivre, which was featured in the US top 10 charts for World and Jazz music, and Snow Time, which won the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) WAMMIE award for Best Jazz Album, 2014.
