 Blues Alley Awards Virtuoso Electric Violinist

Concert series/live recordings with national and international talent

 Washington, DC 1 October 2022 - Blues Alley, DC’s premier jazz club has awarded violinist and composer Dave Kline a four-night residency in November 2022, collaborating with major national and international talent.

 Dave has performed with artists as diverse as Chick Corea and Dwight Yoakam. This tradition is continued throughout Dave’s November residency. Top national and international talent will collaborate and create a series of concerts crossing genres of modern jazz, world, blues and gypsy jazz. Dave's album Shifting Borders was #1 for 16 weeks on the Roots Music jazz chart and #1 for the year on Roots fusion chart.

 Concert Dates:

November 1st – featuring Grammy-winning Jon Carroll (Starland Vocal Band - “Afternoon Delight” - and Mary Chapin Carpenter) performing piano on Dave’s original world jazz compositions.

 November 15th – featuring Senator Tim Kaine on vocals and harmonica plus blues diva Jenny Langer. A blues night on steroids.

 November 22nd – featuring Special Guest (to be announced) – internationally renowned gypsy jazz guitarist.

 November 30th– featuring Emmy-winning DD Jackson, composer and pianist, collaborator with Questlove and “The Roots”.

 Two shows per night at 7pm and 9pm.

His music blends blues and jazz into a variety of styles from around the globe including Africa and Latin America. Kline is holding down a residency at Blues Alley for three Tuesdays this month, featuring a different band each evening. Special guests include Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, Jenny Langer, and others. Shifting Borders Hits #9 on Top 50 Jazz Chart

Shifting Borders reached #5 on the Roots Music Report Jazz Chart, and stayed on that chart for 8 weeks. This album went to number #12 on the North American College Radio Jazz Chart.
